Program/Project Operations Manager Job Category: Project and Program Management Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None The Opportunity: This role is a great opportunity to support the Program Managers within the operations of a Navy PEO Undersea Warfare Systems Contract. This job is located on site at the Navy Yard will supervise two direct reports. Responsibilities: Assist in the development, organization, analysis, execution and monitoring of planned requirements at the project level while assisting the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager.
Assist with project management through the phases of system acquisition and sustainment, while ensuring effective defense systems are delivered to the warfighter.
Assist with the application of the ship/systems acquisition processes, policies, regulations, principles and practices for all elements of project management while assisting the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager
Prepare and evaluate developmental systems documentation and prepare comments and recommendations for changes to meet the needs of the multiple program offices.
Assist with development of metrics provided to the PM and DPM in support of program performance.
Brief senior leadership based on findings; prepare reports, presentations and briefings in support of program actions.
Analyze requirements and provide recommendations to develop program reporting to include the specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and evaluation methodology, including training.
Lead studies, surveys, reviews, and/or research projects to evaluate program accomplishments, effectiveness, and/or compliance with meeting specific goals, objectives, rules, and regulations.
Manage the calendars and meetings for both the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager to ensure optimal coverage and participation.
Manage the administrative functions of the entire PMS 415 Program Office. Qualifications: Required: A related Bachelor's Degree or experience in lieu of a degree
3+ years of professional experience in program/project management within defense acquisition.
Secret/Interim Secret clearance required.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to analyze complex information and provide clear recommendations. Experience with defense acquisition processes, policies, and regulations. Desired: Experience with Department of the Navy / NAVSEA highly desired.
5+ years of experience
An advanced degree in a related field
