Summary Manages contracted programs to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures; coordinates interdepartmental functions in order to minimize delays; meets with team members on a regular basis to review status and plan future actions. Expected to guide and execute programs and coordinate all required tasks and actions to support a globally collaborated environment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:
- Define program schedule including milestone dates and manage progress
- Develop program strategy. Plans and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within required time frame and budget
- Provide input at Sales and Marketing's request to support the proposal process.
- Coordinate and verify the quoted work scope, company sales budget for final technical and scope definition
- Create the Program Plan and the final master phasing schedule based on the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) from engineering and all related departments
- Develop risk assessments and coordinate and oversee recovery plans. (Risk Management Strategy)
- Utilizes program and project management best practices, including project plans resources and constraints, to ensure timely and high-quality completion of initiatives
- Coordinate internal program kickoff and launch "work center" budget allocations to program team. Manage budget and schedule plan from each department. Prepare monthly project forecast and support company budgetary commitments
- Monitor and measure budget and schedule performance of each department and report to executive management
- Ensure development of and oversee each department resource and manpower plan to effectively support and execute the program plan
- Coordinate with the customer and internal departments on technical and contractual issues utilizing project management industry tools
- Support each department as necessary to obtain required technical and certification data from customer and other suppliers
- Collect and evaluate all internal and external scope change management / original contract deviation impacts. Review departments' cost impact proposals, prepare and quantify recommendations to Sales and Marketing for financial negotiations.
- Oversee and manage inputs and outputs of the Design Build Team.
- Plan and conduct milestone meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements Education and/or Experience/Knowledge
Position requires completion of a Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent related work experience, engineering degree preferred. Typically requires a minimum 10 years program management experience in the aircraft industry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to effectively interact with employees and customers.
Responsibilities This job is expected to demonstrate proficiency in implementing a variety of involved work processes, functions and procedures. The employee has specific authority to select appropriate work methods and techniques to complete assigned activities. Emphasis is placed upon the accurate recall and prioritization of assigned tasks. The scope of work performed requires coordinating and integration of tasks among departmental employees and may involve responsibility for ongoing contacts with customers, employees, vendors and contractors.

Language Skill Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
