DescriptionSummary:
The Program Manager Physician Relations serves as a liaison between the organization and the medical staff for the purpose of maintaining service line production and gaining service line growth. The liaison uses communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to maintain and establish positive relationships with the medical staff in the community and outlying areas. The liaison works to identify and facilitate resolution of areas of concern for the physicians with Administration and Service Line Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Works in conjunction with Senior Leadership to develop quarterly business plans, including routing schedule, targeted physicians, marketing messages, and promotions, that align with the strategic physician alignment plan.
- Achieve quarterly sales targets as determined by approved business plan. Utilize contact management software to document activity of contacts, calls, issues, and any other applicable information and track referrals, admits, and diagnostic orders for targeted physicians. Provide bi-weekly summary of significant physician activity to the Administrative Team.
- Make face to face presentations to referral sources promoting services, facilities, and physician network. Develop profiles of referral sources to track market intelligence, referral desires, and potential relationships between the organization and prospective sources.
- Maintain contact and routine follow-up with referral sources and gatekeepers to facilitate communications, to evaluate level of satisfaction, and to prospect for future business. Provide opportunities and business intelligence to leadership for the development of future program enhancements.
- Communicate problems to the appropriate service line director for resolution and communicate the resolution of the service problem to the customer.
- Monitor market and competitive activity in the provider community that may affect the sales strategy and adjust messaging and targeting as necessary.
- Be available to physicians and office staff to address access, communication, or service needs and enhance referral services to this audience.
- Facilitate attendance at educational programs and other opportunities/events to connect specialists with targeted physicians.
- Remain knowledgeable of services offered by the hospital, targeted areas of growth, key service lines, and physician volume.
- Communicate trends in service, communications, and operational barriers expressed by providers that affect the ability to develop long-standing, loyal relationships with providers.
- Work with clinical and operational leaders to ensure a system is in place for addressing and reporting physician issues and needs.
- Track and trend physician issues and communicate these to internal stakeholders through a defined process.
