Department College of Law
Responsibilities This role is part of the College of Law's Communications team, working with the Communications Director to develop and implement strategic communication plans. Oversee projects, manage employees, analyze strategies, and create content across various platforms to improve outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with the Communications Director to create and implement strategic communication plans that align with the College of Law's goals. Oversee the planning and execution of communication projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the overall strategy.
- Mentor and guide part-time employees to foster a collaborative work environment. Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication across all platforms.
- Create engaging content across various platforms to promote the College of Law's initiatives. Develop social media strategies to enhance online presence and analyze performance metrics to optimize outreach efforts.
- Perform other duties, as assigned. Work nights and weekends, as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services or a combination of post high school education and experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services equal to eight years.
Preferred Qualifications - Advanced written and verbal communication skills: Ability to create clear, engaging, and persuasive content for audiences across multiple channels.
- Project management experience: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are used effectively.
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze media and communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven improvements.
- Media relations experience: Ability to build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists to enhance the College of Law's visibility and manage media inquiries effectively.
- Branding expertise: Ability to develop clear messaging that aligns with the organization's goals and resonates with the target audience.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills: Capable of collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders from various departments, as well as building relationships with external partners.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor: A proactive, can-do attitude, particularly when working under pressure or on tight deadlines.

- Be proficient with digital tools and have in-depth knowledge of content management systems, social media management platforms, email marketing tools, and multimedia editing software (e.g. Canva).
- Have strong creative thinking skills to generate new ideas and innovate communications strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Have a solid understanding of brand management and positioning, with the ability to ensure consistent messaging, and visual identity across all communication platforms and materials.

This position works in the office 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, with a 1-hour break for lunch. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as required.
