Why does the job exist?
This position supports the Protective Services Deputy Director of Operations by providing management and oversight of the programs administrative and fiscal operations. This position is located within the Operations branch of the Protective Services program. Protective Services(PS) operations are statewide and include services to Permanency, Placement, Legal, Investigations, and Operations. This position is located in Operations and provides management and oversight to the administrative operations within PS.
How does it get done?
Management and oversight of administrative staff statewide to include; Regional Coordinators, Administrative Assistant Supervisors, Secretary, and Receptionist who provide day-to-day support and services to all program areas. Administrative support provides direct contact with children, parents, and CYFD staff. Staff provide fundamental services such as coordinating meetings, setting-up transportation, arranging travel, making copes, filing, time keeping, employee on-boarding, supply orders, building maintenance/upkeep, and any emergencies that may arise. (75%) Knowledge of Protective Services fiscal and budget operations, to include collaboration with the Administrative Services Division (ASD). Work directly with ASD budget and financial leadership to establish program centered budget to ensure statutory services are provided through each of the PS programs. Establish appropriate workflows for fiscal approvals such as, but not limited to, contracts, travel, request for proposals, supply purchases, and emergency purchases. Knowledge of Protective Service program services areas to assist leadership in decision making with fiscal and budget awareness. (25%)
Ideal Candidate
Experience as it relates to: Working directly with Children, Youth, and their families; Partner with Community Service providers as it relates to Children, and Youth; Working with Youth in a school setting; Determining eligibility for services that might be needed for the Children, Youth and Families; Conduct and complete assessments of safety, risks, strengths, and family needs; Developing Safety plans for the Children, Youth and Families; Participate in multidisciplinary meetings; Identify, provide, and/or arrange timely assessments/evaluations/ interviews; Conduct medical case management activities for eligible clients.
Minimum Qualification
A Master's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling fourteen (14) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
Must possess a current and valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
