Program Manager

Career Transitions is supporting a high growth precision machining company located in southwest Michigan and with an opening on their team for a Program Manager. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operational aspects of a project and serves as the liaison between project management, project team, engineering, operations, suppliers, and the customer.
Program Manager Duties and Responsibilities
• Tracking Plant Metrics
Continuous improvement savings vs. goal
Develop/present weekly staff meeting slides for previous week metrics for company
Tracking safety initiatives and implementing corrective solutions
• Program Management
Hold weekly project meetings to get status updates on ongoing projects
Manage supply base for prototypes and trial orders for new project launches
Continuously review volumes vs. quotes to ensure things are shipping as forecast as well as forward-looking for potential capacity issues
• Revenue and Customer Forecasting
Oversee purchasings 13-week forecast and customer releases and fully understand all the inputs from each customer.
2x/month, update the revenue forecast using the 13-week forecast and actual updates.
Review actual customer shipments to ensure that demand is at forecast levels. If not, investigate.
• Tool Crib Management
Run weekly perishable tooling cost/pc report and identify anomalies and issues and share with company.
Review weekly spend by category and identify trends for improving costs
Directly supervise the 3 tool crib attendants/broken tool techs
• Continuous Improvement
Oversee and assist the C/I manager and all C/I activities. Present findings to corporate team and track savings and projects to meet annual targets
• Purchasing
Oversee the purchasing manager and casting purchases, in particular.
Program Manager Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Bachelors in business administration or related discipline and at least three (3) years of progressively complex experience in project administration.
• May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Must have a good understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management as well as the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.
