IT Program/Portfolio Manager

Job Summary:

As an IT Portfolio Manager, you will be a driving force in transforming how our technology initiatives are planned, prioritized, and delivered. You will cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with colleagues across the organization, from the business PMO and IT development teams to the C-suite. Leveraging these relationships, you will champion the adoption of portfolio and product management best practices, contribute to strategic planning, and optimize our project intake processes. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven ability to navigate complexity, influence stakeholders, and drive tangible outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring our IT investments are strategically aligned, effectively managed, and deliver maximum value to the business.

Responsibilities:
Champion the adoption of portfolio management and product management methodologies across business and IT teams.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive 18-month strategic roadmap.
Lead initiatives to improve and streamline the IT project intake process.
Develop and present clear and concise C-suite level reporting dashboards on the health and performance of the IT portfolio.
Drive the creation and adoption of outcome-based roadmaps and reporting mechanisms.
Facilitate the prioritization of project and enhancement requests submitted to IT development teams, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
Guide business and IT teams in adopting a product-centric approach to their work.
Educate business stakeholders on fixed asset processes to ensure proper capitalization of programs and projects.
Hold business PMO accountable for developing and maintaining roadmaps, defining outcome-based use cases, and effectively prioritizing requests into IT.
Hold IT Product Owners accountable for translating strategic roadmaps into detailed product roadmaps, ensuring speed of delivery, quality, and transparent reporting.
Proactively identify and resolve potential conflicts and roadblocks impacting portfolio execution.
Influence stakeholders at all levels to drive adoption of new processes and achieve desired outcomes.
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to C-suite executives on portfolio strategy, performance, and key initiatives.

Experience:
4+ years of experience working with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices.
5+ years of experience with DevOps methodologies, including Product Lifecycle Management.
Advanced understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including various testing methodologies.
4+ years of experience in program management, managing complex and cross-functional initiatives.
2+ years of experience working with Release Management and Deployment Planning processes.
Demonstrated success in driving projects and initiatives forward in complex and undefined environments.
Successfully identified, designed, and implemented process improvements that resulted in increased efficiency and effectiveness within IT delivery
Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
Experience in conflict avoidance and resolution.
Experience presenting to and interacting with C-suite level executives.
3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Jira.
2+ years of experience contributing to and developing strategic roadmaps.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience with agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
Degree or equivalent 7+ years of experience
Desired Skills and Knowledge:Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering).
Formal certification in project or portfolio management (e.g., PMP, PfMP).
Experience working within the telecommunications or direct broadcast satellite industry.
Familiarity with financial management principles related to IT investments.
