Primary Purpose

Responsible for managing and directing communication programs for Employee Health Integration (EHI) and Office of Talent Management (OTM) Benefits departments. Accountable for developing and executing communication and member engagement strategies as well as business development, branding, member experience, education, wellness programs, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of operations within associated departments.

Minimum Specifications

Education

Required
•  Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Human Resources, Journalism, or related discipline. Preferred
•  Master's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related discipline. Experience

Required
•  Seven (7) years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, web and graphic design, videography, branding, marketing, journalism, sales, or related field. Preferred
•  Prior project management or leadership experience preferred.
•  Previous experience working in healthcare, human resource/benefits, corporate wellness, managed care/insurance, or related environments preferred. Skills or Special Abilities
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines.
•  Ability to write clearly and succinctly as well as a high level of attention to detail.
•  Ability to manage multiple deadlines and time constraints.
•  Ability to communicate complex information in understandable terms.
•  Solid understanding of current communication trends. Must be sensitive to political, cultural, and legal issues affecting healthcare and human resource space. Should also be able to function independently and as a team member.
•  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across and beyond the organization.
•  Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to build strong relationships and deliver all program elements with excellence.
•  Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply critical thinking and analysis on projects.
•  Ability to develop and execute communication and program strategies.
•  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•  Demonstrated ability to lead organizational initiatives, accomplish results, and achieve measurable outcomes or goals.
•  Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple demands and respond to rapidly changing priorities.
•  Knowledge of design best practices across a variety of digital and traditional media.
•  Proficient computer, Adobe, Share Point, WebEx and Microsoft Office skills. Basic HTML/CSS coding skills preferred. Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Execution
•  Work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to create and implement impactful communication and program strategies to ensure employees are familiar with the organization's goals, initiatives, services, benefits, policies, and expectations.
•  Partner with Corporate Communications and Marketing on joint communication efforts.
•  Ensure communication materials comply with organizational procedures and branding guidelines.
•  Develop and implement multi-media marketing, branding and communication strategy ensuring alignment with overall initiatives and priorities.
•  Utilize various communication strategies to enhance the visibility of department(s) and help employees understand the scope of services provided.
•  Serve as an advisor to leadership on integrated communication strategies.
•  Create and manage the project timelines and campaign calendars to help drive communications strategy. Content Development and Design
•  Develop and manage brand and associated elements including but not limited to logos, style guides, usage parameters, brand associated values, and behaviors, etc.
•  Manage all purchases of branded promotional items and copy written material.
•  Collaborate with various departments to strengthen key initiatives and create tailored messages with impactful content to reach targeted audience segments.
•  Collaborate with OTM communications partner and Benefits vendors to ensure communications are aligned with OTM strategies.
•  Draft and distribute reference materials such as open enrollment, benefit resources, wellness initiatives, health education, and healthcare services.
•  Create all written content for Parkland's newsletter, intranet, screensavers, Timeclock TVs, and system-wide email communications.
•  In collaboration with Corporate Communications, develop dedicated flyers, one-pagers, FAQ and supporting materials for various related initiatives.
•  Create written and visual content for various meetings and updates.
•  Provide photography and videography support for system facing initiatives and events.
•  Works collaboratively with Corporate Communications on video projects drafting the speaker scripts that will be used.
•  Responsible for coordinating responses to all inquiries submitted through "Ask the Chiefs."
•  Promote, attend, and/or report on special events and functions; milestone events and activities; goals and projects; etc.
•  Lead the alignment of all marketing touchpoints to shape and guide the member experience. Digital Media
•  Promote messaging through all media platforms.
•  Manage digital presence on Parkland's intranet, Parkland benefits website, and various other digital media vehicles.
•  Create and manage content for web-based department pages and Share Point sites facilitating meetings with stakeholders to plan and develop their pages. Presentation Development and Management
•  Develop presentation materials and present, as needed, for occasions such as, Leadership Forum, Town Hall Meeting, Chief's Meeting, Talent Development and Executive Compensation Committee (TDEC), internal/external conferences and business meetings, new employee orientation, and open-enrollment events.
•  Collaborate with leadership to develop the content and obtain required approvals. Fiscal Management
•  Operational responsible for the financial performance of assigned area(s).
•  Promote activities to achieve operational efficiency.
•  Manage the approved budget through frequent and regular monitoring. Implement written action plans to address variances adjusting strategies as necessary to meet budgetary targets.
•  Consider operational outcomes and financial implications when making recommendations to implement new programs or modify current programs.
•  Manage staffing levels within established targets. Talent Management
•  Manage the assigned staff to achieve department goals and support communication projects.
•  Recruits and retains a quality workforce.
•  Accountable for orientation, ongoing education and training, and competency verification for all employees.
•  Ensure Human Resource metrics (i.e., retention, vacancy, engagement) meet established targets.
•  Timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
•  Promote and foster a diverse, highly engaged, and collaborative work environment within areas of responsibility. Utilize workforce metrics to monitor, identify, and respond to workforce trends.
•  Conduct regular meetings, inform team of changes in policy or procedure, and provide information regarding overall strategy and direction of the organization.
•  Mentor, coach, and support direct reports with building teamwork, professional development, and education to achieve optimal performance and develop talent.
•  Ensure employee engagement survey participation rates and results meet established targets.
•  Mandatory requirements are complete and required credentials are current and in good standing.
•  Employee performance is monitored and managed. Consults with the Office of Talent Management as appropriate regarding disciplinary action. Member Experience
•  Establishes member experience metrics and draws insights from data to drive operational improvements.
•  Prepares regular data reports to review with leadership and key stakeholders.
•  Collaborates with Health System Research and Patient Experience teams to understand success metrics and drive strategies for improvement.
•  Conduct follow-ups with members to ensure a high-quality member experience, connect members with appropriate resources if necessary, and identify operational areas for improvement.
•  Facilitate member experience committees and meetings to seek feedback, improve offerings, and advance transparency.
•  Develop and implement new initiatives to elevate the member experience. Health and Wellness
