Immediate opening for Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Director at Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate must be Board-Certified in Ob-Gyn with a proven track record of leadership and at least 5 years of experience in education as a faculty member in an Ob-Gyn training program. Comfort with managing all aspects of Generalist Ob-Gyn care is expected, experience with minimally invasive and vaginal surgery is preferred. Experience with group prenatal care (such as Centering Pregnancy) is helpful, but not required.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program at Methodist is a well-established community-based program that is dedicated to training residents who provide excellent health care, leadership and service to the patients in our community and in the community where they will practice. This program offers broad exposure to all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic care including essential primary care for women, surgical and non-surgical management of gynecologic complaints, average-risk and high-risk pregnancy care, and exposure to traditional and group prenatal care models. The residency program is fully accredited and in good standing with the ACGME and trains 3 categorical residents per year 12 residents in total.
Your Job Requirements:
- Current, active board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience as faculty, Ob-Gyn Residency teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience, educational leadership preferred.
- Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Your Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee all educational, operational, and administrative functions of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program, including the provision of clinical care for Program patients at the Golden Cross Academic Clinic by residents, faculty, and nurse practitioners.
Maintain the Program in a fully accredited status with the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and assure compliance with ACGME Program Requirements for Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training
Oversee the selection, appointment, and evaluation of all faculty members
Coordinate the selection, hiring, evaluation, and clinical/educational oversight of all Program residents
Assure appropriate supervision and quality of care provided by Program faculty and residents in all clinical settings
Serve as attending physician, in collaboration with other Program faculty, for Methodist patients being treated by the Program residents
Create and maintain an academic environment in which Program residents and faculty actively participate
Lead continuous quality improvement efforts for the Program in education and clinical care
Demonstrate ongoing personal scholarly activity (as defined by ACGME) and facilitate the ongoing scholarly activity of Program faculty and residents
Other duties as assigned
