The Role
The Director of Central Admissions is responsible for the overall administrative operation and coordination of the Centralized Admissions Department, including assessment. This position is responsible for the performance and guidance of all department employees and for the direct supervision of the Assistant Director(s) of Admissions and Assessment as well as assuring the quality of clinical and administrative services. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure utilization rates are maintained at the level determined by agency policy.
- Coordinate and implement department services while modifying existing and developing new components with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures necessary for the operation of residential admissions, assessment, and mental health services.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision and education to admissions, assessment, and mental health services staff.
- Collaborate with the Director of Training to provide training and education to admissions and assessment staff.
- Ensure admissions and assessment staff maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with external monitoring agency standards and internal policies and procedures.
- Monitor the quality and effectiveness of clinical services provided in Assessment.
- Provide regular progress reports to administration.
- Participate in internal agency committees.
- Serve as the agency's residential program liaison with criminal justice agencies.
- Develop and maintain proactive relationships with referral sources.
- Represent Samaritan Daytop Village at community and public forums.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Who You Will Be:
- NYS License Master Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor
- A graduate degree in a clinical discipline (Social Work or Mental Health Counseling) with at least 5 years of staff experience in substance use treatment and/or mental health and at least 2 years of experience providing clinical services.
- At least 1-3 years of providing regular face-to-face supervision to a clinical team.
- Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs.
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Team player and ability to work independently.
