Responsibilities

Position Focus Statement

The Program Associate assists in efforts to promote and connect students with hiring employers for career goal or academic major related on- and off-campus, part-time, and seasonal paid employment. Primary duties include communicating with students, employers, faculty and staff; and broader Career Center team to increase student and employer engagement. Facilitates administrative support and customer service to the Career Center Experiential Learning Programs and On/Off-Campus Recruiting. Assists the Program Director with coordination and execution of FSU annual participation in National in National Student Employment Week (NSEW), the Tony DiBenedetto Student Employee of the Year Award (SEOTY) program, and virtual or in-person recruiting events connecting FSU students with employers hiring for part-time, seasonal and summer employment. Respond to employer inquiries recruiting for experiential learning opportunities (part-time, seasonal, and summer camp jobs in addition to internships, leadership, volunteer, etc.).

Responsibilities

Serve as main point of contact for off and on campus hiring employers interested in promoting experiential learning opportunities (part-time jobs, internships, leadership, research and volunteer, etc.) to Florida State students. Respond to requests from business/industry, government, and nonprofit employers who want to post experiential learning opportunities, e.g. internships, volunteer, part-time and seasonal employment. Maintain external communications and customer service excellence regarding current and new experiential learning engagement opportunities. Review submitted employer experiential learning postings in NoleNetwork. Escalate employer concerns/issues to appropriate team members. Serve as one of two contacts for reviewing for fraudulent job postings and notifying students and Career Center staff of reported postings. Collaborate with FSU ITS and FSU PD to update fraudulent/scam job posting webpage and internal reporting procedures annually. Post received experiential learning opportunities in NoleNetwork; utilize resources to gather needed information and ensure NoleNetwork postings are grammatically correct; clarify any concerns/questions regarding a posting with appropriate team member(s). Present postings of interest or with low application numbers and student views at meetings.

Provide administrative support for virtual and in-person student employment hiring events connecting hiring off-campus employers with Florida State students seeking paid, part-time employment such as summer camps, peak seasonal hiring, local employers, etc. Provide clerical and administrative support for employer open house events to create new internship opportunities.

Provide administrative support of university-wide student employee nomination and recognition program Tony DiBenedetto Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) as well as FSU's participation and celebration of National Student Employment Week (NSEW).

Support delivery of core Career Center programs, services, events and career fairs. Maintain working knowledge of all Career Center programs, services and policies. Actively participate and engage in Career Center staff meetings, trainings, retreats and meetings. Serve as liaison to Career Center, Division of Student Affairs, departmental and university committees as needed. Serves on Career Center's CSM Working Group in order to train, manage and leverage use of all tools and educate team members on system changes/updates.

Complete required training and maintain knowledge of university processes to route non-monetary contracts through the centralized contract module as well as manage the supplier registration and invoice submission/payment for InternFSU: TLH employers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and four years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize and evaluate meetings and/or events.

Anticipated Salary Range

The salary for the Program Associate position is $36,250, commensurate with education and experience.
