In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary: The Program Associate is a member of the ESE Information System Management team, which manages ESE Enrollment, PowerSchool Special Programs, Medicaid and Private/Parochial Services. The Program Associate will support school- based and Central Office staff via professional development, data analysis, system configuration/implementation, technical support, and reporting of data.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Special Education, preferred
- 2-4 years of experience working in software support
- PowerSchool Special Programs and EDPlan experience preferred.
- Reporting Services & Report Builder.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Critical thinking and problem solving.
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfort explaining complex issues and solutions.
- Ability to handle a heavy workload and multiple projects with frequent interruptions and schedule changes.
- Excel (PivotTables, various functions like VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.)
- Experience in the use of databases to structure information.
- Experience in developing and providing individual and group training.
- Ability to meet stringent timelines.
- Consultation, training, group facilitation, and process skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Windows desktop operating system.
Essential Functions: - Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify analytical requirements.
- Produces reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
- Review, organize, and recommend system changes and enhancements; and write program specifications.
- Review systems changes and enhancements after implementation to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Interpret results of data analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide analysis, training, implementation, and leadership services to the end-users of the information systems.
- Provide analysis, training, coordination, monitoring, and problem-solving services to end-users of information systems.
- Recommend, design, and implement solutions for functional, technical, service, or process issues.
- Develop and conduct regular end-user training, and seminar sessions.
- Assist the district in the preparation of specialized reports using reporting tools as needed.
- Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming telephone, email and chat-based requests for assistance customers experiencing problems with software and other computer-related technologies.
- Create and analyze reports from varied sources for presentation to internal and external audiences with differing levels of technical experience.
- Supervise and facilitate school placements for each cohort, ensuring alignment with student needs and district policies.
- Coordinate transportation logistics, ensuring students are placed in the nearest appropriate school.
- Lead and oversee office projects, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient execution.
- Track, compile, and manage office reports, including report requests, for accurate record-keeping.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to meet stakeholder needs and enhance decision-making.
- Test and implement program modifications in PowerSchool Special Programs for accuracy and efficiency.
- Assess, organize, and recommend system improvements and enhancements, including writing program specifications.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with system changes and enhancements post-implementation.
- Develop and maintain end-user documentation and operational procedures for system modifications and enhancements.
- Analyze and interpret data insights for internal and external stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
- Provide comprehensive analysis, training, implementation support, and leadership for end-users of information systems.
- Conduct business analysis to identify process improvements and optimization opportunities.
- Recommend, design, and implement technical, functional, and service-related solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
