The Program Assistant is responsible for receiving and responding to callers to the Office of the Chief Inspector General's (OCIG) Whistle-blower's Hotline (Hotline) and the OCIG's main telephone line to obtain specific information about the nature of the caller's concerns, questions, or comments. Enters the caller's information into the OCIG database (CRM) as required by the OCIG's policies and procedures; assigns the caller's information and disposition to the Inspector Specialist (IS), or designee, for review. Provides callers with accurate referral information when the nature of their complaint does not fall within the jurisdiction of this office. Returns calls in a timely manner to individuals leaving messages on the Hotline's or the main telephone line's voicemail. Pursuant to sections 14.32 and .31895, Florida Statutes, the OCIG maintains the Hotline for the purpose of receiving complaints and information concerning the possible violation of law or administrative rules, mismanagement, fraud, waste, abuse of authority, malfeasance, or a substantial or specific danger to the health, welfare, or safety of the public.

Monitors for incoming correspondences. Reviews CRM and appropriately names the emails that are downloaded for staff processing. Utilizes CRM for data entry and ensures all applicable fields are reviewed, edited, and prepared for final review by the IS, or designee. Assists the IS with monitoring for incoming personnel actions, notifications, and extension requests in accordance with the office's policies and procedures. Assists the Executive Assistant with receiving and processing incoming mail . Accurately and efficiently documents information received by the OCIG. Demonstrates the ability to review, research, and recommend appropriate action to resolve incoming correspondence.

Completes special projects and assists with updating policies and procedures as requested by the Senior Management Analyst II (Intake Manager), the Chief of Investigations, Deputy Chief Inspector General, or the Chief Inspector General.

Performs other duties as assigned.
