SALARY: $75,000

ABOUT HOMELESS CHILDREN'S NETWORK

Homeless Children's Network is a community-based organization providing mental health and

family support services to children and families who are homeless and formerly homeless. This

position is responsible for answering the phone and routing calls to the appropriate staff

members; greeting and assisting clients and visitors; monitoring, ordering, receiving and

stocking office supplies and attending to general administrative duties in support of HCN staff.

Programming Assistant Primary Role:

The Program Assistant works the reception desk and is often our initial contact for HCN's clients

and visitors, and must have a cheerful, positive, welcoming attitude and demeanor. S/he must

also demonstrate the ability to hold confidentiality, respect boundaries, assist children and

families coming to the clinic for sensitive services, and demonstrate clear verbal and written

communication skills.


Program Assistant Job Duties:

Ordering and Stocking: orders & stocks program and office supplies, stocks refrigerator

and snacks for clients. Stocks restrooms supplies and makes sure supplies remain

available.

Send notices for Service Providers' Meetings and other HCN functions

Makes simple purchases for organization, interns, or staff after CEO/COO approves

Replenish forms and creates charts: keeps all regularly needed forms replenished

Performs other duties as assigned

Managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; managing incoming and

outgoing phone calls, composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes

confidential; creating spreadsheets and presentations; establishing and maintaining

electronic and paper files, copying, faxing; completing expense reports; arranging travel

plans and compiling documents for travel-related meetings.

Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to

the Executive Director, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines

appropriate course of action, referral, or response.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential

situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource

information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree in related field required.

Prior related office experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
