This position presents a unique opportunity to support CMT's business units providing diverse and varied experience in Aviation, Surface Transportation, and Water Resources industries along with our Building & Site Services team.

Locations: Dayton, OH or Indianapolis, IN or Springfield, IL

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Will work closely with clients, the general public, and co-workers to manage projects and perform ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Plat of Highways, Route Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Subdivision Plats, Topographic/Design Surveys, Construction Staking on private and public projects while maintaining and adhering to QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinating survey work orders, verifying construction plan accuracy, and working closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed to requirements, specifications, and budgets.
  • Public record searches, legal description preparation, land title policy review, and signing and sealing survey documents.
  • Construction calculations and layout and/or as-built surveys.
  • SIT mentorship is also expected.
  • Position may require day travel to job sites or overnight travel on occasion.
Position Requirements:
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (Illinois/Ohio/Indiana)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional land surveying experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, plus math and computer skills, to include proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with discipline-specific Trimble equipment including GPS, robotic total stations, survey controllers, and Trimble Business Center Office Software
  • Candidate must be reliable and responsible with strong professional work ethic and approach
  • For specific clients, candidates must be able to pass a drug alcohol screen
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record and valid driver's license
Preferred qualifications:
  • Ability and interest to be licensed in multiple states as a Professional Land Surveyor
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and OpenRoads
  • Geospatial interest including drone mapping/licensure, terrestrial scanning, and GIS experience
  • Proficient with data management, field to finish procedures, and point cloud processing
  • Business Development involvement including proposal and contract preparation and building strong client relationships
