Job Description: - Conduct and oversee boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
- Utilize and maintain surveying instruments, including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
- Prepare and certify survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, and other documents, ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania state laws and regulations.
- Perform complex calculations related to land boundaries, elevations, and other property features.
- Analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports and documentation.
- Research land records, deeds, maps, and other legal documents to support survey projects.
- Resolve discrepancies between field data and existing records, adjusting surveys as necessary.
- Ensure all surveying activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including the Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor Law.
- Provide expert testimony in legal cases involving property boundaries, if required.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and government agencies to address survey-related inquiries and provide project updates.
- Represent the company in meetings with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications: - Excellent in operating surveying instruments, including GPS units and levels.
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices and construction methods and fundamentals.
- Strong knowledge and experience of boundary and topographic surveying.
- Proficient in Auto CAD and Microsoft applications.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform precise calculations.
- Excellent ability to interpret and analyze survey data, maps, and legal descriptions.
- Ability to interpret and apply legal descriptions, maps and survey data.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent client service.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania state laws and regulations related to land surveying.
- Ability to provide expert testimony and resolve property boundary disputes.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in land surveying, civil engineering or related field.
- Must possess and maintain a current and valid Pennsylvania Professional Survey License (PLS).
- Minimum of six (6) years' experience in land surveying
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in managing projects.
- Experience in leading field crews and managing survey projects.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various customer sites in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualification - Working knowledge of Carlson a plus.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas of surveying is a plus.
- Member of Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors is preferred.
