JOB SUMMARY

The Production supervisor oversees the functions, production and employees within their designated department. A Supervisor will oversee the completion of trailers and each step involved in the completion process. This position requires the ability to lead, communicate effectively, give daily production goals and maintain flow of materials and equipment. Ability to assist Production Manager and other supervisors in daily functions. Awareness of safety procedures and inventory control of supervised area.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor may include but are not limited to the following:

• Encourage employees to reach daily goals set by company.

• Ensure that quality standards are met.

• Be proactive in resolving issues before they arise.

• Communicate and disseminate directions.

• Receive, separate and organize Work Orders.

• Ensure employees wear the proper safety equipment.

• Hold meetings with departmental employees to update and encourage.

• Track employee time and attendance. Address attendance and performance issues with individual employees as needed.

• Make sure employees have materials, tools, and supplies they need to complete their jobs effectively.

• Communicate with the Production Manager and Plant Manager.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Requires minimum of 8 hours of standing, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.

• The majority of time is spent on shop floor walking between work areas.

• Must be able to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms and climb in, under, and out of trailers.

• Exposed to high noise levels

• High heat during peak summer months

• Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant changes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Microsoft Programs, including Excel and Word

• Air and Electric Tools

• Crane Operation

• Welding Understanding

• Ability to read and understand prints.

• Use tape measure and other tools.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma

• Supervisory Experience

• Manufacturing and assembly Line experience

• Computer knowledge
