Southern Minnesota who is searching for
Production Supervisors for their 1st Shift at their
NEW state of the art facility. When I say growing, they have three facilities already and now adding the fourth after having been in business for 20 years. This plant is expected to have around 300 employees and is hoping to begin production by the new year. The plant will focus on pork processing so looking for Supervisors for both their fresh and smokehouse division. Key Responsibilities: - Lead production teams, ensuring daily production goals are met in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflows as necessary to meet demand, optimizing labor, materials, and equipment usage.
- Oversee product quality throughout the production process to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Provide direction and support to production employees, ensuring effective communication, performance expectations, and goal alignment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss production goals, performance feedback, safety issues, and any operational challenges.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure that all employees are following OSHA, USDA, and internal safety guidelines.
- Identify and address any safety hazards on the production floor and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents.
- Support the implementation of quality control procedures and ensure compliance with HACCP and other food safety regulations.
- Track and analyze production metrics (e.g., output, efficiency, downtime) and report on performance regularly.
- Identify areas for improvement in production processes and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Monitor the usage of raw materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to prevent delays in production.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing costs, and improving product quality.
Qualifications: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production supervision
- NEED to have experience within pork processing/smoked meats
- Hands-on leadership style
- Experience within a start-up/growth environment a plus
- Knowledge of USDA, HACCP, and OSHA regulations
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
