Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and driven Production Supervisor for our 2nd shift. This is a permanent role within our dynamic manufacturing team, offering a unique opportunity to utilize your expertise in plant safety, food safety, HACCP, SQF, and production efficiencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to achieve operational excellence, implementing changeovers, maintaining sanitation standards, and handling emergency equipment repair. This role is a perfect fit for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for improving processes and driving results.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all 2nd shift production operations, ensuring that objectives are achieved at the lowest
cost consistent with quality requirements.
2. Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential
for team member injuries.
3. Maintain high standards of product quality, ensuring adherence to HACCP, SQF, and food safety standards.
4. Drive production efficiencies, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
5. Supervise and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
6. Ensure effective and efficient changeovers between production runs.
7. Oversee sanitation of the plant, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
8. Coordinate with the maintenance team for emergency equipment repair, minimizing downtime and production
disruption.
9. Implement and maintain 5S principles within the production area.
10. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on production status and improvements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience with plant safety, HACCP, SQF, food safety, and production efficiencies.
4. Strong leadership skills with a track record of supervising and mentoring a team.
5. Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and overseeing changeovers.
6. Experience in handling emergency equipment repair.
7. Familiarity with sanitation standards and procedures within a manufacturing plant.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
9. Knowledge of 5S principles and their application in a production environment.
10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.
