Overview
Seeking a Production Planning Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance production scheduling. The ideal candidate has Lean/Six Sigma expertise and experience in high-volume manufacturing. Success is measured by cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and throughput gains.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan & adjust production schedules based on demand, inventory, and labor.
- Optimize workflows using Lean tools (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
- Monitor capacity & resource utilization, recommending staffing/equipment adjustments.
- Enhance inventory management to reduce waste and costs.
- Analyze costs & track KPIs (cycle time, yield, defects) to drive improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (ISO, OSHA) and support process training.
Qualifications
- BS in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering (MS/certifications preferred).
- 5+ years' experience in production planning (automotive, aerospace, fabrication preferred).
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor) and data tools (Excel, Minitab, Power BI).
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Work Environment
- Office-based with frequent production floor visits.
