The ProductionPlanning & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for effectively andefficiently planning the daily work orders through the plant to ensure optimal customersatisfaction within Tempered and Specialty Metals (TSM).
Responsibilities and Duties As aminimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties andresponsibilities expected of the Production Planning & InventoryCoordinator. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as theneeds of the organization require.
- Reviewsales orders for accuracy of tag corresponding to customer's specifications.
- Scheduleworkflow by process as to priority and customer requirements.
- Planand determine production schedule to meet on time delivery needs. Productionschedules are developed in accordance with sales forecasts and plant/employeecapacity.
- Updateand publish daily posted lead times for Sales.
- Updateand publish daily production schedules per production unit for Operations.
- Maintainand analyze production data to determine efficiency rates and operatingperformance against planned time.
- Understandrisks (downtime, material shortage, etc.) and minimize impact on the productionschedule.
- Assembleand track data to identify areas (bottlenecks, routings, consumables, manpower,etc.) and suggest improvements.
- Alignwith Sales to optimize available raw material, application strategies, rollingabilities, productivity, and overall performance while limiting scrap generation.
- Coordinateefficient fulfillment of multiple orders with the least amount of processing.
- Createthe processing plan and apply material according to the order using Stratix.
- Accuratelyclose sales order to ensure proper scrap and restocks are returned in a timelyfashion with proper locations and information applied to tags
• - Maintainmonthly inventory pipeline information, coordinating review and distribution toGM, Procurement, and Sales management.
- Maintainfinished goods inventory levels according to planned reorder points and reorderquantities.
- Createoutside work orders.
- Prepareand lead the daily production meeting with Operations and Sales.
- Remainflexible and perform other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet businesstargets.
- Providemanagement with reports as needed.
- Contributeto a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Communicateeffectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Adhere to all TSM safety rules,regulations, and quality standards.
- Adhere to all TSM handbook policiesand procedures.
Required Qualifications - HighSchool diploma or equivalent
- Oneyear of experience in production planning
- Oneyear of experience in understanding machine capabilities
- MicrosoftOffice proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellentwritten and oral communication skills
- Goodorganizational, problem solving, and time management skills
- Abilityto analyze, track, and maintain accountabilities
- Abilityto effectively multi-task and work independently on assigned tasks
- Strongwork ethic; self-motivated
- Operatewith high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers,and suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications - Threeyears of experience in production planning
- Fouryears of experience in understanding machine capabilities
- Oneyear of experience working in stainless steel industry
- Goodknowledge of the Production Module in Stratix
