Job Summary:

The Planner will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Plant Manager, and Assemblers to ensure that customer needs are met on a daily basis. You will also work with the purchasing team to ensure that purchase orders are coming in on time to eliminate material shortages. Planning will include work order allocation and work flow on the shop floor.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Production Scheduling:

• Create and maintain production schedule daily using the Company's ERP system.
• Work with shop floor employees, Supply Chain Manager, and Plant Manager to ensure everything is ready for production, seek to reduce setups, priority flag items and optimize schedule.
• Calculate inventory requirements for WIP on a daily basis.
• Create work charts for the work centers.

Customer Service and Support:

• Interaction with Sales companies, including service and configured teams (orders, general lead time requests, manual customer order entry), in a timely manner.
• Respond to inquiries from manufacturing team in a timely manner.
• Approve incoming customer orders throughout the day.
• Confirm Customer orders to Sales Teams.
• Ensure that 1st confirmed ship dates are kept.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Manager to support manufacturing and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Your Experience & Education

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Planner preferred.
• Associates Degree, Post-Secondary Education, APICS (CPIM) or equivalent experience in material planning
• Basic knowledge of buying, customer service, and material flow
• Excellent math and analytical skills
• Deadline driven
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Project management experience a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees
• Strong excel skills would be considered an asset
• Technical skills using material requirements planning software
• SAP or IFS scheduling experience would be considered an asset
