Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all production operations for the 2nd shift to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met
- Lead, coach, and develop production team members, including supervisors, team leads, and operators
- Coordinate shift start-up and end-of-shift handoff communications with 1st and 3rd shift management to ensure production continuity
- Monitor workflow and production metrics daily to drive operational excellence
- Uphold safety policies and procedures while actively participating in Prepac's safety culture
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools
- Ensure accurate documentation of production results, inventory usage, and labor hours
- Partner with Maintenance and Quality departments to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
- Address performance and attendance concerns in partnership with Human Resources
- Support and communicate company goals and priorities, fostering a culture of accountability and engagement
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new production employees
- Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to succession planning for high-potential team members
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted or 10+ leading a manufacturing shift
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced production setting
- Strong understanding of production processes, safety regulations, and quality systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP and production reporting systems
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies a plus
- Ability to interpret data, manage priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure
- Calm and professional demeanor with the ability to manage conflict and foster collaboration
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
