Production Manager

Verbio is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Production Manager, for its biomethane and ethanol production facility located in Nevada, Iowa.

About Verbio
The Verbio Nevada Biorefinery is the first industrial scale renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in North America using agricultural residues as its feedstock. The plant is 100% owned by Verbio North America Holdings Corporation.

RNG production from corn stover began in December 2021 with the completion of Phase I, at a capacity of 7 million ethanol gallons equivalent (EGE) per year. Upon completion of Phase II summer 2024, the site will begin operating as a biorefinery, producing 60 million gallons of corn-based ethanol and an additional 19 million (EGE) of RNG from stillage. The integration of RNG and ethanol production, unique to Verbio, incorporates advanced operational technology currently in use at the company s facilities in Germany. The process also yields humus, soil amendment, and organic fertilizers.

Position Purpose:
The Production Manager will organize and oversee the manufacturing of our products. The Production Manager will ultimately be responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and quality of the product. The Production Manger plays a key role of the health and safety of all our employees and a key contributor to be an environmental ambassador of the neighborhood. The Production Manager will have a deep understanding of our production procedures. The ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance will be key in being a leader. Decision making and problem-solving will be a vital part of the Production Manager s day.

Responsibilities:
•   Liaise with other staff to formulate objectives and understand requirements
•   Estimate costs and adhere to budgets
•   Organize workflow to meet specification and deadlines
•   Monitor production to resolve issues
•   Drive plant resources to increase production rates safely.
•   Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel
•   Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc)
•   Help organize maintenance work
•   Ensure product meets quality standards
•   Enforce health and safety precautions
•   Other duties as assigned
•   Organize shut downs
Qualifications:
•   BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
•   Proven experience in production supervision
•   Deep knowledge of production management
•   Understanding of quality standards and programs
•   Understanding of health and safety programs
•   Experience in reporting of key production metrics
•   Excellent communication and organization skills
•   Attention to detail
•   Minimum 5 years work experience
•   Must be able to make informed decisions while working both independently and as part of a team. Follows directions and understands what needs to be done. Works well with minimal upper management direction required.
•   Self-starter and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
•   Ability to communicate effectively and to build relationships with excellent time management skills.
•   Has the ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
•   Have good problem-solving skills and ability to overcome obstacles.
•   Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Uses tact and diplomacy and possesses a customer service focus.
•   Complies with all procedures, policies and requirements necessary to maintain a safe workplace.
