MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Production Lead manages a shift team of operations personnel for a designated unit at a site to achieve Business Team plans in a safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally sound manner. Has responsibility for and makes operational decisions for a process unit with minimal management support. Demonstrates applicable Operations skills appropriate to the job position. Exhibits communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups. Strong leadership skills are required for Emergency Preparedness role and for abnormal operations management.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
â Provides leadership and assumes administrative responsibility for operations personnel working on shift. Acts as management's representative to a wage team on nights and weekends. Ensures adequate shift team competency level to conduct required operations. Effectively interfaces with other STLs to transition status and objectives across shifts.
â Directly supervises the deployment of personnel and all work activities in the field operational unit under his/her responsibility to achieve Business Team objectives.
â Mentors less experienced STLs and step-ups.
â Responsible for understanding operational status of their unit at all times. Manages the unit shift team to ensure production targets are met (volume, yield and quality) and shift instructions are carried out.
â Ensures that all employees and contractors meet applicable personnel and process safety, security, health, and environment (Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE requirements. Upholds consistent SSHE standards to achieve loss free field and control room operations through Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) Critical Verification Measurement (OCVM), routine Verification and Validation (V&V) and Loss Prevention Self-assessment (LPSA) verification in the field. Effectively utilizes all Loss Prevention System (LPS) tools, and conducts monthly stewardships with Technicians.
â Responsible for procedural reviews, safety planning and execution. Ensures safe work permits are written and executed to achieve loss free performance. Performs field V&V of activity execution.
â Utilizes knowledge and experience to advise shift team on troubleshooting and process safety considerations for abnormal / non-routine operations. Single decision point for urgent safety critical operating decisions to bring unit / equipment into a safe position to protect personnel and equipment.
â Ensure unit shift team readiness for Emergency Response through Emergency Response Drills, both planned and impromptu. Oversees emergency response contingency plans and activities on the unit with minimal management support during initial response.
â Initiates investigation of unit safety, operational, quality and environmental incidents as appropriate. Provides initial case management for all injuries, and informs relevant management / supervision.
â Responsible for creating a high performing team on their shift. Measures shift team performance and stewards results to unit management.
â Leads shift team through Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS). Performs field verifications (through personal V&V) and through cold eyes reviews (OCVM, Standard Operator Interface (SOI), etc.) to ensure effectiveness and sustainment. Stewards IMPACT reports to ensure appropriate data entered and responsibilities assigned to ensure adequate follow up. Identifies gaps and implements improvements.
â Accountable for maintaining high levels of unit reliability, cost effective operations, and/or product movements to generate cash/profits for the company.
â Ensures standards of Operator Care, Operations Excellence, and housekeeping are upheld and verified on the unit.
â Ensures that shift team activities are in compliance with Global Product Quality Management System (GPQMS).
â Networks with other Shift Team Leaders at the site to establish best practices and promote consistency. May participate in regional Networks / COPs.
â Responsible for understanding site's labor strategy and managing labor relations within assigned area.
â May participates in the planning and execution of unit turnarounds and work associated with unit modification and other project work.
â May be responsible for establishing and stewarding contractor performance expectations. May oversee contractor work activities, ensuring they work in a manner consistent with contractual requirements and Company expectations.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
â Behavioral Skills: analytical capability, effective communication, courage of conviction, sound decision-making.
â Functional Skills: SSHE management - operations and maintenance, managing critical operations, operations-specific technology and unit or area, console knowledge - general and specific unit, process planning and mechanical coordination, process planning for T/As.
â Strong operational knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry
â Proven leadership and coaching skills, including experience managing a team
â Previous operating experience, either onshore or offshore along with a good understanding of safety management
