Position Summary Reporting to the Supply Manager, the Production & Inventory Planner is responsible for production and inventory control to accurately account for and track raw materials and consumables. The Production & Inventory Planner will create and translate strategic production plans into production schedules, update into materials required listings and oversee the receiving and tracking throughout the production process to ensure audit proof tracing of all materials. This position will assist with maintaining material master files and bills of material within SAP. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. They will have a strong attention to detail and will be able to manage multiple competing priorities. Ability to think ahead and proactively to resolve problems will be key to success in this role. Position Responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor production schedules based on required inventory stocking levels.
  • Ensure inventory is utilized to meet customer specifications.
  • Administer and provide daily production schedules for multiple facilities to ensure proper balance and utilization for the entire Crop(s).
  • Select and recommend materials from inventory to meet customer orders on a daily basis.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report performance to schedule of production activities utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
  • Research order and delivery discrepancies and resolve MRP related issues.
  • Develop, support and provide accountability for the inventory stocking initiatives in an effort to maximize all customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Monitor daily quality from each plant to ensure we are meeting planned specifications. Work with plant managers to make changes as needed.
  • Review and develop strategies to reduce all slow moving and obsolete inventories.
  • Manage inventories to ensure that product is not allowed to age and rework is scheduled to ensure product is saleable.
  • Manage stock transfers between facilities.
  • Manage customer service requirements, pack plan forecasts, and plant capacity utilization.
  • Take the lead to ensure WIP inventories are properly maintained as per identified objectives.
  • Perform periodic inventory analysis to verifying system accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist in maintaining SAP system with new materials or changes to bills of material.
  • Plan and develop continual improvement of the production planning and reporting processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma is required. Bachelor's degree preferred, or strong relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Three (3) years of related experience in food manufacturing is required.
  • Experience in production/inventory control-performing production reporting, calculations, physical inventory, reconciliation and database control is preferred.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees and customers is required.
  • Solid computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Access and with significant experience within Excel and SAP knowledge is required.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and present effective and efficient solutions in a clear and concise manner to management is required.
  • Strong attention to detail is required
Compensation Range (min-max) -$64,000 - 95,000
