Job Title: Plant Maintenance Mechanic at Eastern States Steel, a steel service center and family owned business since 1979 located in Norristown PA, is looking to fill an immediate need for a full time Plant Maintenance Mechanic.
The steel service center manages both structural and flat roll steel production and distribution in bundle to truckload quantities. Machinery includes several horizontal bandsaws, a leveling line, a shear, and a metal fabrication shop.
Full-Time Monday through Friday.
Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Compensation Upon Experience. 25% Health Care Benefits Available after 3 Months Full Time.
General Essential Functions:
- Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance of warehouses, forklifts & machinery.
- Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.
- Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation.
- Production and inventory management responsibilities.
- Collect, maintain, file various paperwork as necessary.
- Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.
- Perform general maintenance across varies properties.
Education and Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift trucks such as Hyster, Yale and Crowns with lift ratings up to 12,000 lbs.
- Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability along with knowledge of industrial electricity up to 440 volts would be preferred.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Valid state issued license.
- Able to work safely and follow company rules and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods walking wearing safety boots, including but not limited to walking within and to the office to the plant floor in a regular/daily basis.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Position requires work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to traverse the entire facility and lift up to 50 pounds at times.
