GENERAL SUMMARY
Position is responsible for the manufacturing engineering section of engineering. Perform the normal activities of manufacturing support to include scrap reduction, equipment repair, productivity, business planning, quotations, process, and tooling development.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Work with customers on new model and current production concerns.
2. Coordinate with manufacturing to reduce scrap, improve productivity, and repair equipment downtime issues.
3. Troubleshoot part quality issues during pre-production activities.
4. Troubleshoot issues with current production parts.
5. Interface with customer and supplier on scrap reduction issues.
6. First run and scrap tracking and reduction.
7. Interface with design for new product quotation and design changes.
8. Assist in breaking down barriers that are preventing an ME from achieving their objective.
9. Meet with and review schedules with other departments on status (information sharing) to achieve company targets & goals.
10. Communicates frequently with internal contacts and occasionally with external contacts on various issues.
11. Prepares the Engineering Business Plan, expense budgeting, engineering assignments, and manages engineering resources.
12. Monitors development costs and assures manufacturing costs meet the quoted targets.
13. Approves engineering equipment specifications and prepares and manages the capital budget for equipment purchases.
14. Provides training for all team members.
15. Leads Manufacturing Improvement Teams to meet business plan targets.
16. Must follow all company requirements in regards to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This work is performed in a general manufacturing and office environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must:
Have a high school diploma or GED
Have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and generally five plus years of experience in a related field

An advanced degree and generally four plus years of experience in a related field
Certification may be required in some areas
Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications
Have strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and possess the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs
Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test
Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
