Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

PRODUCT SPECIALIST

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Implement product management by integrating diverse functions in order to maximize product profitability while meeting customer needs. Research, analyze, plan and facilitate multiple processes with critical impact to operation and profitability including sales price, inventory, volume sold, short and long term demand, effective utilization of production capacity, product/account mix, and other related factors.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Implement the Sale of Products to diverse Sales Channels and Customers: Balances and considers multiple factors to achieve maximum profitability. These are: sales price, customer volume constraints, sales agreement/contract requirements, current and forecasted inventory and production and projected demand and costs.
  • Facilitate the Fulfillment of Product Delivery and Commitment: Determine and decide on monthly production schedule that will affect operations to a substantial degree in order to fulfill contract and customer needs. Work as a problem solver and eliminate blockages to enhance the consistent delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations. Solve and/or recommend resolution to discrepancies/abnormalities, customer complaints and/or quality issues to department and management.
  • Sales Target Achievement: Coordinate with multiple internal departments and cross-functional teams to propose and implement strategies/plans to meet target/goal.
  • Act as a Critical Liaison: to multiple internal departments, cross-functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision makers.
  • Research, Track and Analyze Product Management Information: Research, compile, and analyze information to provide consultation and/or expert advice to Management, Sales, Customer Service and others. Information research and analysis includes pricing, inventory, order verification, account profitability, fleet utilization, contact performance, sample performance and potential customer information.
  • Makes Product Management Recommendations: in the areas of market trends, sales forecast, sales targets, production targets and inventory allowance to management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED: MINIMUM COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR PRIOR TRAINING:
  • Four (4) year college degree required
  • 2-3 years' experience in a related field is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Occasional Travel to meet with customers.
  • Must be able to work in a rapid-paced changing environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity.
  • Physical requirements include duties common to a regular office environment.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required.
