Akkodis is seeking a Product Safety Specialist for a Contract with a client located Lake Forest, Illinois, or Willis Tower, Chicago, Illinois (onsite) and ideally strong hands-on Safety Data Sheets (SDS), OSHA and REACH and Dangerous Goods.
Rate Range: $42-45/hr (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Product Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of product safety specialists to assess global hazard communication requirements through internal processes and author Safety Data Sheets (SDS), review and approve product labeling, and perform risk analysis. This role is critical in ensuring our products comply with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in product safety, hazard communication, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of hazard communication regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, GHS, CLP, REACH), and Dangerous Goods classification.
Experience in authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
Dangerous Goods certified.
Experience with both OSHA and REACH a plus along with conducting hazard assessments.
