Due to exciting growth plans and a drive for innovation in how we meet customers' needs during retirement, we are recruiting an experienced Product Owner to join the team in Edinburgh, Alderley Park, or London.
Customers' retirement needs are constantly evolving. As a modern mutual, it is important to us to ensure that Royal London's solutions meet those needs effectively. This opportunity as Product Owner involves playing a key role in our retirement solution innovation-understanding customer needs and market context, generating ideas, testing those ideas with customers and advisers, developing business cases, and delivering the resulting solutions.
About the role
- Provide expertise on the propositions and recommend changes to better meet customer and adviser needs.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of customer/adviser needs, competitor products and landscape, and regulatory concerns to inform the strategic direction for the proposition.
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of end-to-end propositions, including articulating the vision and requirements to stakeholders.
- Champion customer-led design to ensure insights are applied to new features, journeys, or products to deliver meaningful value.
- Ensure compliance with the FCA's Consumer Duty obligations and mortgage regulation.
- Support recommendations for proposition positioning, from pricing to servicing and overall customer experience.
- Collaborate and influence key stakeholders to develop a strong roadmap/backlog and deliver on business outcomes-ensuring propositions attract and retain customers or reduce costs.
- Provide strong leadership across functions and within your team, delivering outcomes and managing costs.
About you
- Experience within the financial services sector is essential, ideally within the retirement space.
- Customer-focused, with a thirst for insight and the ability to leverage insights to develop successful propositions.
- Outcome-oriented, with a good understanding of customer and adviser dynamics, and the ability to focus on areas that add the greatest value.
- Ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand the impact of proposition recommendations and analyze proposition performance.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, keeping on track for agreed goals.
- Experience managing product development and risk in line with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
