What Product and Solutions Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health

This is an essential product marketing role that supports the Fluid Management business within the Global and U.S. Fluid Management marketing team. This business serves traditional acute and non-acute medical markets in the peri-operative, post-operative and patient bedside space and has opportunity for growth in new distribution channels and within new customer segments.

Job Summary

The Product Manager will be responsible for the Fluid Management portfolio within the broader Specialty products portfolio. The Product Manager will lead and support global portfolio management for a $170M P&L, including product lifecycle management, market research, marketing strategy development & execution and rigorous cross functional collaboration. This role reports directly to the Global & U.S. Director for Fluid Management and supports both Sr. Product Managers for global and U.S. region.

The Product Manager is responsible for working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure long-term sustainable growth. This role reports directly to the Global & U.S. Director for Fluid Management and supports both Sr. Product Managers for global and U.S. region. With an aptitude for analysis and critical thinking, this role will lead through everyday business management activities including but not limited to supply, quality, labeling, product availability, product specifications. In addition, marketing strategy activities including product and portfolio messaging, new product launches, engagement campaigns, competitive positioning and voice of customer and customer journey analysis in the pursuit of an exceptional customer experience and financial growth for the category.

Responsibilities
  • Product Marketing is responsible for defining the product, market and life cycle management strategy including customer need identification, market research, product or service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, branding and distribution to drive customer loyalty, sales growth and improved profitability
  • Exhibits an ability to translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales & profitability for the business.
  • Accountable for gaining and driving cross functional support from all stakeholders
  • Identifies and remains current on market trends.
  • Determines product lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success
  • Understands methods available to execute primary research (VOC) that are necessary to drive portfolio and product decisions. Can identify market opportunities through VOC/secondary research and takes action by implementing and managing solutions
  • Works effectively across cross functional groups including but not limited to IT, communications, operations, and sales
  • Defines product messaging strategy and communication objectives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4+ years' experience in related field preferred
  • Experience working independently, using good judgment and leadership abilities to manage short and long-term priorities and projects
  • Understands methods available to execute primary research that are necessary to drive product line/portfolio decisions.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building a business & marketing plan, this includes identifying the appropriate channels to market.
  • Must have the ability to understand market trends and competitive positioning and can establish and/or adjust the product offering
  • Proficient in mining data and interpreting findings to solve problems and tell a story
  • Microsoft Office experience with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Maintains a positive attitude with a focus on creative solutions and strong internal partnerships
  • Thrives in a team environment and prioritized culture building initiatives
  • Must be able to travel 25% of the time domestically and internationally, which may include some nights and weekends

Anticipated salary range: $79,700 - $113,800

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
