About Friday Harbor

Every year over 8 million Americans take out mortgages with an aggregate value of over $2 trillion, enabling them to achieve the dream of home ownership.

Unfortunately, getting a mortgage is a stressful process that often takes over 40 days and requires repeated back-and-forth between borrowers and loan officers. As a result of this friction, mortgage lenders have costs upwards of $11,000 to originate a single loan.

Friday Harbor simplifies mortgage origination with AI, helping lenders close loans faster and more efficiently. We're venture-backed (Abstract, Mischief, Wischoff, AI2 Incubator, CoFound), have a large cohort of early enterprise customers, and are headquartered in Seattle's waterfront AI House.

Role Overview We're hiring a Product Manager to define product strategy, guide engineering priorities, and deliver practical solutions. This role is one of the first ten at the company and the first Product position. You will work closely with our CEO, CTO, Head of Customer, the engineering team, and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop product strategy and roadmap, working directly with the CEO and CTO to scope projects

  • Drive clear communication with stakeholders, including explaining prioritization decisions and product direction
  • Support the technical team by providing clarity on product requirements and being available to answer questions about tickets
  • Support broader business projects beyond pure product tasks

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong business judgment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience in product strategy and customer research
  • Meticulous, analytical, and execution-oriented approach to everything

Ideal Background:

  • Technically or analytically strong academic background preferred
  • Hands-on mindset, committed to shipping useful features
  • Strong preference for prior experience working on products involving AI/ML
  • Excellent communicator who collaborates equally effectively with engineers and senior enterprise customers

Role Scope:

  • While focused primarily on product management (75+%), this role includes broader opportunities to support general business needs.
  • Ideal candidates will thrive as a dynamic "business athlete" in a rapidly evolving startup.

Why Join:

  • Extremely high-impact early role influencing product and company direction
  • Tight-knit, collaborative team in a dynamic early-stage environment
  • Massive market opportunity with proven traction and cutting-edge AI technology.
  • Exceptional Seattle waterfront workspace

Benefits:

  • Competitive cash salary, equity, health/dental/vision/life coverage
  • Career growth as part of a foundational team

Compensation range: $150-$175k

Hybrid: In-office 3 days/week
