About the Role
Maverick Power has an immediate opening for a Product Engineer.
This position will be the liaison between manufacturing and design engineering. Knowledge of panelboards, switchboards and switchgear, creating bills of materials, developing drawings, seeking alternative components, helping production and other engineering related activities. Utilize 'design for manufacturing' principles to reduce system complexity and build time. Your work will be exciting and varied working on projects which require knowledge of applications, electrical/electronics, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and safety. Never a dull day, and always a challenging problem to solve in a collaborative, goal focused environment.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Point of contact between production and engineering troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise.
- Support Maverick's manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
- Review mechanical and electrical designs for power distribution for correctness and adherence to proper UL Standard.
- Provide feedback to design engineers as needed on mechanical and electrical designs.
- Work side-by-side with the production engineering team on new product developments.
- Setup/Program/Troubleshoot power quality meters such as SEL 735, 2411, etc.
- Setup/Program/Troubleshoot Woodward ATS and other specified controllers.
- Support Field Service during installation, commissioning and troubleshooting both remotely as well as onsite as required.
- Interpret customer bid package drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, plan layouts and specifications.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

What You Bring
- Education:
- Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and 3 years
- Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience/ Skills:
- Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings.
- Strong problem solving & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
- Must be able to effectively utilize time.
- Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 67, UL 1558, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI C37, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, 2 years minimum.
- Knowledge of low voltage switchboard (UL891)/ switchgear design (UL1558)/panelboard (UL67), installation, and use.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchgear.
- Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams including front elevation, one-line, and schematic drawings.
- Excellent problem resolution skills.
- Must be able to complete criminal record background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing on manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
Work Environment
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
