POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Engineer will play a critical role in the design, developments, testing, and qualification of Kingston Technology's Flash products. This role will require hands-on technical expertise to drive product innovation and ensure high manufacturing yield.
Salary $80k-$85k To apply, please visit our careers page ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Leads product design, development, testing, and qualification of Flash storage products.
- Develops and reviews test plans for scope, feasibility, and cost analysis.
- Performs hands-on debugging using schematics, layouts, fabrication drawings, and test logs.
- Documents production processes and analyze manufacturing test failure modes.
- Maintains and calibrates test equipment, including ICT, burn-in chambers, and server racks.
- Collaborates with cross-functional manufacturing teams to ensure high yield production.
- Develops and deploys hardware/software tools to support manufacturing test requirements.
- Conducts product design reviews, including electrical, mechanical, functional, and BOM/sourcing aspects.
- Handles customer issues related to RMAs and provide failure analysis (FA) reports to external customers.
GUIDELINES (ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS): - Strong understanding of SSD hardware architecture and Flash storage
- Proficiency with sideband communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
- Hands-on experience with analog/digital circuit analysis, schematic/layout review, and component datasheets
- Software scripting and debugging skills (Bash, Python, C)
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows OS and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently while meeting deadlines
- Comfortable collaborating with multi-time zone teams
Preferred - Program management experience in NPI & sustaining activities
- Experience with in-circuit testing (ICT), including bed-of-nails and flying probe
- Knowledge of computer server hardware stack
- Working knowledge of SATA/PCIe storage and NAND flash memory
- Mandarin language skills are a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 1 to 3 years of experience in hardware design, product development, and manufacturing test is required
- Experience with end-to-end manufacturing processes (SMT, Electrical/Functional Test).
- Experience in hardware debugging and using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
