Danfoss Power Solutions in Havant, UK, is looking to fill a position for a Senior Product Engineer, Industrial Hydraulics to design and maintain electro-hydraulic components and systems with the team. The role may require travel within Europe, Asia, and the USA to support customers and participate in inter-site activities. Candidates with hydraulics and testing experience, especially with high-tolerance parts, are preferred. A passion for front-line work, learning, and skill development is essential.
Job Responsibilities As our Product Engineer, Industrial Hydraulics, you'll utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to design electro-hydraulic components and systems, supporting less experienced engineers and working on new hydraulic valves and systems to meet customer needs and ensure timely, cost-effective production.
You will contribute to and lead design improvements and cost reductions from concept through market launch, providing technical support on design, production, and application issues related to hydraulic valves. Ensuring maintenance of hydraulic test rigs and equipment is also part of your responsibilities.
Your specific areas of responsibility include:
- Design new and modified valves using 3D CAD (experience with NX/ProE is advantageous)
- Review drawings, reports, change requests (ECOs), and BOMs for clarity, completeness, and standards compliance
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives applying Lean principles
- Create test plans and reports for testing products
- Maintain department procedures and working practices
- Support manufacturing to facilitate effective production and resolve parts issues
- Lead efforts to introduce new and updated products
- Prepare and operate test rigs for various testing purposes
Success in this role requires a related engineering degree, experience in hydraulic component design and development, and possibly testing. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, hands-on skills, and good communication with local and global teams are crucial.
