Our client, a leading organization in the commercial sector, is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join their team. As a Contracts Analyst, you will be part of the Design Engineer department supporting various Projests.
Job Title: Product Design Engineer
Location: Cupertino CA 95014 (Hybrid) - hybrid schedule, working 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wed, Thursday) Remote - Monday / Friday
Duration: 06 Months contract with a possibility to convert as a perm.

Engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science, statistics
Excellent communication skills: written, visual, and verbal. Ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
3D CAD experience with any program. 2D drafting and GD&T a plus
Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing a plus
Experience designing mechanical components for mass production a plus - specifically molded, formed, and machined parts
2+ yrs of Mechanical Design industry experience
Description:
Candidate will provide design support for iPad products including:
Using 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent, inspection requirements, and test methods
Developing deep technical knowledge in areas outside your realm of expertise to understand other teams' design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems
Collaborating with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability
Some of the skills we exercise and develop regularly: tolerance and stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, design for high volume manufacturability and assembly, prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, metrology, statistical process control
Education: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
