As an integral part of the Produce team, you will help receive and prepare products, maintain an inviting Produce floor and displays, and assist with sales to uphold Whole Foods Market (WFM) standards. This role involves various tasks such as breaking down deliveries and restocking shelves. The ideal candidate will consistently ensure a positive company image through courteous, efficient service to customers and fellow team members. All positions must be performed according to team and store Standard Operating Procedures while supporting WFM's core values and goals.
Key Responsibilities: - Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked, front-facing, checking codes, and rotating or removing out-of-date products.
- Support the Team Leader in organizing and showcasing volume and seasonal items.
- Monitor for spoilage and communicate waste issues to buyers, Team Leaders, and the shift supervisor.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as necessary.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts.
- Arrive at your workstation on time, groomed, dressed, and ready for the day's tasks; adhere to scheduled shifts and participate in all required training and meetings.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing customer needs and employing effective suggestive selling techniques; answer calls and pages in a courteous manner.
- Maximize sales potential by following proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
- Adhere to established processes for health and sanitation, including Weights and Measures compliance and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment; ensure equipment is upheld according to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Carry out opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; maintain accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.
- Perform other assigned duties as directed by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience: - No prior retail experience is required.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
- Frequent hand use for grasping, fine manipulation, and equipment operation.
- Engage in bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Experience temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Use tools and equipment, including knives and electric pallet jacks, safely.
- May require the use of ladders.
The wage range for this position is $16.00 - $25.40 hourly, based on experience. Whole Foods Market provides exceptional benefits, which may include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and access to various additional benefit programs. Eligibility for benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan upon the date of hire.
