- Support inventory and merchandising goals
- Meet objectives for sales, labor costs, and service
- Ensure that the department contributes to the financial best interest of the store
- Develop and support procedures for ordering, receiving, pricing, and stocking for the department
- Hire, train, develop, and schedule Produce Department personnel; develop, maintain, and be responsible for team performance standards
- Uplift, encourage, mentor, and lead a dynamic team of individuals
- Ensure adherence to New Pioneers' customer service standards
- Maintain a clear line of communication between all departments
- Work closely with the Produce Coordinator, Store Team Lead, and Receiver on inventory standards, programs, sale cycles, and department resets
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Store Team Lead and Assistant Store Team Lead

- Experience in supervising/managing/ leading, hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating staff
- Knowledge of organic, natural, and commercial produce practices, organic certification and sustainability standards.

Physical Requirements
- Extensive standing

- Must have a high level of mobility/flexibility in the space provided
- Must be able to carry food products weighing 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet regularly
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Exposure to heat, cold, and odors
- Working in a retail grocery store and office environment
This position requires a committed schedule which may include opening, mid-shift, and closing, and requires weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis. The Produce Team Lead position is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
