As a key member of our Produce team, you will be responsible for receiving and preparing products, maintaining a visually appealing Produce floor, and assisting with sales in alignment with Whole Foods Market standards. This role involves breaking down deliveries and stocking shelves while ensuring a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. You will work in compliance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures, and actively support WFM core values and goals while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, including food safety requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Keeping the Produce displays fresh and appealing by maintaining clean and well-stocked shelves; rotating stock and removing outdated products.
- Assisting the Team Leader in organizing and displaying seasonal items effectively.
- Monitoring and preventing spoilage, while communicating waste to buyers and management.
- Completing necessary worksheets related to spoilage, sampling, temperature checks, and cleanliness.
- Participating in periodic inventory checks.
- Arriving on time, suitably dressed, and prepared for work; fulfilling all scheduled shifts and participating in required training sessions.
- Delivering excellent customer service, addressing customer needs promptly, and demonstrating suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximizing sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of products.
- Adhering to established procedures regarding weights and measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, including equipment cleanliness.
- Executing opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and ensuring sign and pricing accuracy.
- Reporting any safety hazards or violations immediately.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by store or regional leadership.

Experience:
- No prior retail experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
- Hand dexterity for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach as required.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
- Capability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, and electric pallet jacks.
- May require ladder use.

The wage range for this position is $16.00 - $25.40 per hour, based on experience. Whole Foods Market offers comprehensive benefits, which may include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and access to other programs. Eligibility for benefits is determined at the time of hire. New entry-level Team Members who complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase.
