As a Produce Clerk, you will be an essential member of our Produce team, responsible for ensuring a clean, appealing, and well-stocked display of our products. Your tasks will include receiving deliveries, maintaining the Produce floor, and assisting customers in finding the products they need. All roles at Whole Foods require adherence to our values and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain fresh and attractive displays by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked, including checking codes and removing out-of-date products.
- Support the Team Leader in organizing seasonal and high-volume items.
- Monitor spoilage and communicate waste to supervisors.
- Complete necessary worksheets for spoilage, temperature, and sanitation.
- Assist with inventory checks as required.
- Arrive on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to work; attend all required training and meetings.
- Provide outstanding customer service and timely response to customer needs.
- Maximize sales through effective product preparation, storage, and merchandising.
- Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment; adhere to equipment cleanliness standards.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties accurately, including sign and pricing accuracy.
- Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.
- Execute other assigned tasks from store or regional leadership.

Experience:
- No prior retail experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing and walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
- Competence in hand use: gripping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Engagement in bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures of up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Willingness to accommodate a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment, including knives and pallet jacks.
- May require the use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $16.00 - $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience. New entry-level Team Members may be eligible for a base rate increase after successfully completing their first 90 days of employment.
