Position Purpose: Executes day to day purchasing activities, oversees material categories, and resolves quality and delivery issues. The Procurement Specialist I also helps ensure that the sourcing process is more
efficient by building relationships with suppliers, negotiating cost and developing agreements that
ultimately help the Company grow and become more profitable.
Principle Accountabilities - Responsible for initiating, preparing, and confirming purchase orders that provide all stakeholders necessary data and deadlines, and follow all limits of authority.
- Tracks deliveries and receiving of materials to end users and plants
- Performs supplier forecast analysis process to mitigate sourcing challenges
- Responsible for managing the international shipment process to ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency in all international shipments.
- Holds Quarterly check ins with suppliers to review designated KPIs along with overview of supplier product line for potential new opportunities
- Performs periodic updates of supplier relationships, minimum purchases, cost changes, and other variables which constrain material replenishment planning and execution.
- Mitigates product shortages through proactive communication with suppliers, staying abreast of market trends, and utilizing tools such as advances to plan and execute purchasing plans.
- Collaborates with internal and external stake holders in a professional and effective manner to improve supply chain costs, solve problems, and achieve organizational efficiency.
- Proactively conducts market research to find new suppliers and alternative raw materials.
- Visits incumbent and potential new suppliers to vet supplier processes and build great business relationships.

Essential Skills and Experience - BS/BA in Supply Chain or Logistics
- 2+ years of business experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods environment
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft office, web-based services, and Inventory and Replenishment software
- Capacity to build complex decision support tools as needed.
- Able to travel 20% of time
- Demonstrated exceptional teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
