Position Overview
The Procurement Manager will lead the Procurement Team to ensure that the division meets its objectives through best practices in supply management. This position reports to the Plant Manager, is part of the division leadership team, and is responsible for managing relationships between Operations, Finance, and the supplier base. The Procurement Manager will be committed to achieving objectives, providing excellent internal customer service, maintaining supply chain integrity, and continuously pursuing improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the division procurement team focused on operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and bottom-line Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings.
- Manage operational sourcing and storerooms for the division.
- Negotiate contracts and prepare and issue purchase orders.
- Oversee division procurement transactions to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Develop and implement supply management strategies that align with the divisions strategic objectives.
- Collaborate across divisions to develop and implement standard best practices, enhancing the value contribution of the procurement organization.
- Manage key categories across divisions by applying category management and strategic sourcing principles.
- Measure and manage supplier costs, quality, and performance; resolve disputes; identify the root cause of failures; and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor key market and business trends to quantify opportunities and risks for the business.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in procurement within a process manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on procurement leader with a strong background in building and mentoring procurement teams.
- Proven experience in implementing best-practice processes and tools to optimize operational sourcing and storerooms.
- Skilled negotiator with proven results in complex negotiations and contract management.
- History of managing strategic supplier relationships and performance effectively.
- Ability to build and lead cross-functional teams.
- Self-driven, decisive, and accountable decision-maker.
- Capable of organizing and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, completing tasks with a sense of urgency, and meeting deadlines.
- Effective communicator, skilled at conveying complex issues to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Uncompromising commitment to integrity, ethics, and values.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data, with advanced skills in Excel and Power BI preferred.
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management or related field preferred.
