SF Recruitment are working with a leading social services provider (Private sector) to recruit a procurement manager role. This is a standalone role & a great opportunity to own the procurement process within the organisation, putting your own stamp on things.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Procurement Manager to oversee all direct and indirect procurement activities across the group remit. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring value for money on goods and services such as medical equipment/consumables, catering, cleaning, facilities maintenance, utilities, IT systems, and professional services. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a multi-site, regulated environment and a passion for improving quality and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute procurement strategies for both direct and indirect categories across the care home network.
- Lead sourcing initiatives and negotiate contracts for core services and products, including facilities management, catering, housekeeping, IT, PPE, office supplies.
- Collaborate closely with regional and care home managers, as well as central support teams, to understand local requirements and provide tailored procurement support. Adopt a hands-on approach to assist with service issues as needed.
- Develop and sustain effective relationships with preferred suppliers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and performance benchmarks.
- Oversee contract compliance, manage renewals, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and supplier consolidation.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with internal governance and comply with relevant regulations (e.g., CQC, GDPR, Health & Safety).
- Analyse procurement data to measure performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
- Support the implementation of group-wide contracts, frameworks, and preferred supplier arrangements.
- Partner with finance to monitor budgets and support accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Champion ethical and sustainable procurement practices across the organisation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of procurement experience, particularly in indirect spend categories.
- Background in care homes, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-site service-based environments.
- Strong capabilities in negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance oversight.
- Sound knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
