Procore Accountant

Jones Networking is recruiting for an experienced Procore Accountant to join a growing Development Firm in Washington, DC. Our client offers a competitive salary, generous health benefits package, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan and paid parking.
Requirements of the Procore Accountant:
- Review and approve vendor invoices and payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Ensure Project Teams comply with proper Contract Management processes, including approvals for Commitments, COIs, and Budget Changes.
- Oversee project budgets and job costing, ensuring costs are tracked accurately and appropriately allocated.
- Manage project cash flows, including loan and escrow draws, ensuring compliance with associated documentation.
- Prepare and present project reports and cash flows at monthly, quarterly, or bi-annual budget meetings.
- Review and close books monthly by examining the Job Cost and General Ledgers and reviewing financial statements.
- Review quarterly capital calls and provide updates to the Corporate Accountant.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Transition completed projects to the Property Accountant including assisting with cost segregation studies and placing assets in service.
- Prepare and coordinate annual tax filings, including Personal Property Returns and BPOLs, and assist with tax workpapers in collaboration with the Accounting Department.
- Support the Financial Controller with special projects and assist in ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
- Assist with audits and internal controls as necessary.
Requirements of the Procore Accountant:
- At least 5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
- B.S. in Accounting (or related field) preferred; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proficiency with Procore accounting software required.
- Additional experience with AppFolio and Microsoft Excel is helpful.
- Knowledge of job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting for construction projects.
- Ability to adapt to changing data and adjust financials accordingly.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- High levels of integrity, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
