Job Description - Process Manager (DOH01I0):

Primary objective :

  • Coordination of specified tasks within the process engineering discipline.
  • Responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the process area, including supervising engineers and graduates.
  • Ensure all work conforms with codes and practices, meets contract requirements, and is completed within schedules, budgets, and procedures.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure work is carried out competently, effectively, within time and budget constraints, and that project objectives are met.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for resolving process design issues.
  • Supervise instrumentation engineers, designers, and technical personnel in PMC projects.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and participate in training programs.
  • Maintain work scope integrity and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Manage resource requirements, including manpower planning, recruitment, and skill gap analysis.
  • Conduct annual competency and performance assessments.
  • Estimate process engineering costs, time, and resources for projects.

Essential Skills / Experience :

  • Proven ability to organize and manage discipline engineering teams across multiple projects.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and technology transfer, especially to location nationals.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and relevant software tools.
  • Strong dispute resolution skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Broad knowledge of process engineering across project phases, from FEED to commissioning, in Oil & Gas or related industries.

Desirable :

  • PMC experience.
  • Experience with advanced engineering design tools and data systems.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, with membership of IChemE or IEAust.
  • Competence in AutoCAD, Microstation, MS Excel, Word, Access, and experience with 3D modelling systems like PDS, PDMS, AutoPlant.
  • Experience with advanced design and data systems such as SmartPlant suite.
  • Extensive experience in conceptual and detailed design of Oil & Gas or petrochemical facilities.
  • Experience in PMC projects related to desalination or salt recovery.

Additional Skills / Experience :

  • Production and approval of process diagrams, data sheets, calculations, and system models.
  • Adherence to management systems and standards.
  • Commitment to quality assurance and safety practices.
