SUMMARY: The Process Engineer will work with production and management staff to improve production processes Utilize technical expertise and troubleshooting skills to enhance safety, environmental, and quality performance of assigned processes.
DUTIES:
Provide process engineering expertise to plant operations and strategic initiatives. This includes improvements in safety performance, environmental impact, process optimization, raw material and energy usage and capacity expansion.
Identify and provide justification for capital expenditures in support of process improvements. Perform project management activities and facilitate the implementation of capital projects in process areas.
Maintain and update Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives including procedures, process safety information, P&IDs, MOCs, and PHAs. Utilize Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to resolve issues and improve processes.
Ensure safe processes, work conditions, and behaviors through active leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment efforts.
Work with Quality and front-line production to resolve process issues and provide technical solutions as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Chemical Engineering with process/production engineering (chemicals processing). Experience in Process Safety Management. Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Must have the communication and facilitation skills to lead groups in the various problem-solving techniques. Experience in multitasking, prioritizing complex issues and managing multiple projects.
