Process Engineer III

About the Role
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer III to join our client's team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and experienced professional who is passionate about advancing water treatment technologies and making a meaningful impact on the world's most vital resource.
As a Process Engineer III, you will provide advanced engineering and process design support for ultra-pure and reclaim water systems that meet the highest industry standards. You'll be responsible for maintaining process specifications and ensuring design integrity, quality, and efficiency from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze specifications and contract documents to determine project scope and set engineering objectives
- Review firm price proposals and submittals for quality assurance
- Provide technical support to Sales and Product Support teams
- Develop and maintain process specifications, P&IDs, and quality assurance documentation
- Prepare mass balances, sequences of operation, and functional logic for water treatment systems
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and equipment sizing
- Lead a team of Process Engineers and drafters on large-scale projects
- Interface directly with customers to ensure alignment on system design and functionality
- Collaborate with Automation Engineers on PLC programming and control systems
- Work alongside Innovation Engineers to develop cutting-edge water treatment technologies
- Mentor junior engineers and support talent development
- Assist in the startup and commissioning of water treatment systems
- Comply with all established safety procedures
- Perform additional duties as required
What You'll Bring:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, MS Office, and PIPEFLO
- Strong knowledge of ultra-pure water treatment systems and components (RO, Ion Exchange, Heat Exchangers, Piping Design, etc.)
- Experience with 3rd party sizing tools (RO, GTM, pumps, Ion Exchange, etc.)
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited university
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required - up to 10%
