PROCESS ENGINEER - PLASTIC EXTRUSION
Seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support and improve custom profile extrusion operations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting production issues, optimizing machine performance, and driving process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have technical, hands-on knowledge of profile extrusion, and lean manufacturing principles.
This role offers a direct path to plant leadership. The current Manufacturing/Engineering Manager would like to retire in a few years, and we're searching for a talented Engineer to develop and lead into that role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optimize extrusion processes to reduce scrap, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues; implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with tooling and maintenance teams to improve screw, die, and machine performance.
- Support quality efforts by ensuring consistent process parameters and product specs.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related tools.
- Assist with material evaluation and compatibility testing.
- Provide training and technical support to operators and shift personnel.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering.
- 3+ years of processing experience for plastic profile extrusion.
- Knowledge of extrusion equipment, tooling, thermoplastics, and process controls.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
