Endeavour's Pact group has an exciting opportunity for a Process Development and Scale Up Engineer to join the team, working directly with Pact Fuels part of Endeavour Inspired Infrastructure and focusing on scaling up novel technologies from Pilot to Commercial scale.

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Understand new process concepts to meet future business needs. Develop options to ensure performance advantages based on industry wide strategic opportunities.
  • Evaluate new process configuration options via flowsheet analysis to identify configuration options which have the highest probability of commercial success.
  • Assess how the technology will integrate into operations (brownfield) or new installations (greenfield) with the implications of integration on the process configurations.
  • Derisk the process by identification of key parameters for process scale up to commercial volumes, understanding raw material specifications, finished product specifications, and impacts on operability and economics.
  • Establish and execute experimental and/or modeling plans using appropriate tools to address critical technical uncertainties in the technology commercialization.
  • Partner with engineering capabilities (internal or external) to drive operability and design the process for reaching commercial targets.
  • Optimize the process consistent with business/program objectives, influence and guide product/process specifications.
  • Actively seek out and engage third parties that can provide competitive advantage or accelerate process.
  • Engage with customers to understand needs and build feedback into the process configuration.

Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to visit operations in various geographies, may involve spending significant time at a specific location in the event of process challenges

Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Work experience with process conceptualization and modeling using process simulation tools (Aspen or equivalent)
  • Work experience with lab-scale and pilot-scale operations
  • Academic or work experience with physical model / 3D modeling
  • Understanding of design engineering, process design technology selection, early-stage economic analysis
